The 'vocabulary of solitude' was an art installation that was planned to take over the three-storey-high North Atrium of Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.  

Determining how the flooring product would perform in-situ was a challenge as the flooring needed to be laid over the existing stone flooring. 

OUR SOLUTION

We were able to provide expert advice throughout the whole process from product selection through to installation techniques. A thicker product was selected to mitigate any transfer of grout lines and we used installation techniques to avoid the product from shifting, warping and rippling.

The flooring produced a seamless finish and the artist was very happy with the final results.
